Common Faults Causes and Solutions of Drive Shaft

Common failures of transmission shaft and their solutions: 1. Vehicle vibration when transmission shaft swings or travels:

Fault phenomena: When a vehicle is running, it is obvious that the periodic strong vibration of the transmission system is transmitted to the body, and the acceleration is obviously different from taxiing. When the vehicle stops, the vibration of the engine runs at various speeds disappears.

Reasons and elimination methods:

1. The assembly direction of universal joint fork is different. 

2. The transmission shaft is twisted or bent. 

3, loose parts or dynamic imbalance. Elimination methods: repair, dynamic balance or replacement.

Fault two, transmission shaft abnormal sound:

Fault phenomenon: when the car is running, it is obvious that the transmission shaft produces abnormal noises, especially when shifting gears. When the speed is stable, the sound decreases or disappears.

Reasons and elimination methods:

1. Excessive wear and tear of expansion spline. 

2. Wear, bite and damage of universal joint bearings. Exclusion: Replacement of cross shaft or bearing;

3. Wear or burn out of intermediate bearing. Exclusion: Replacement of fittings;

4. Fastener loosening. Exclusion: Retightening.

Failure 3. Heating of universal joint or intermediate bearing:

Fault Phenomenon: After driving for a certain mileage, it is found that the grease liquefied from the oil seal drips out at the middle bearing, and the parts are hot when touched by the hand.

Reasons and elimination methods:

1. Oil deficiency of universal joint bearing or intermediate bearing. 

2. Installation of intermediate support bracket is not correct. Exclusion method: Correct bracket to perpendicular bearing and transmission shaft;

3. The oil seal is too tight. Elimination method: Low speed grinding should be combined with refueling at the edge;
